The data presented on OpenSanctions is not created by an editorial staff. Instead, it is aggregated from a variety of sources, most of which are national governments or other international organisations.

If you are listed on an international sanctions list and wish to be removed, most countries offer a complaint mechanism where you can apply to have your information removed. Below are some of the contact points for national authorities:

UN: Ombudsman for de-listing
USA (OFAC): Filing a petition for removal from an OFAC list
EU: External Action Service
Australia: Requests to be de-listed
INTERPOL: Commission for the Control of Files (CCF)
