She is a nominal owner of assets that are actually controlled by her husband, Vladimir Stefanovich Litvinenko. Vladimir Litvinenko chaired the academic council where Putin defended his doctoral dissertation. He also headed Putin's election campaign headquarters in St. Petersburg in 2000, 2004, 2012, and 2018. Litvinenko holds a significant stake (around 20%) in the Russian chemical holding PhosAgro, which is a global leader in the production of phosphorus-based fertilizers.
