Therefore, the 53rd Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade is supporting materially actions which undermine and threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine. The 53rd Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade is a surface-to-air missile brigade of the Russian Ground Forces and is part of the 20th Guards Army of the Russian Federation. Since September 2010, the 53rd Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade has performed combat missions as part of the Western Military District and has been recognized as one of the key air defense brigades of the Russian land forces. Since February 2022, the 53rd Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade has actively contributed to Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine. The 53rd Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade has been deployed to the Kharkiv region of Ukraine during Russia’s full-scale invasion, firing anti-aircraft missiles from a warehouse in Izium while the Ukrainian city was under Russian occupation. In February 2023, the 53rd Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade was awarded a new honorary designation by President Putin for “mass heroism and valour, endurance, and courage shown by the personnel of the brigade in combat actions to defend the Fatherland”, likely in relation to the brigade’s contributions to Russia’s war of aggression against of Ukraine. President Putin resolved to grant the honorary name “Guards” to the 53rd Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade, and from 21 February 2023 on, to call it the 53rd Guards Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade.

La 53e brigade de missiles antiaériens est une brigade de missiles sol-air des forces terrestres russes faisant partie de la 20e armée de la Garde de la Fédération de Russie. Depuis septembre 2010, la 53e brigade de missiles antiaériens mène des missions de combat dans le district militaire occidental et est reconnue comme l’une des principales brigades de défense aérienne des forces terrestres russes. Depuis février 2022, la 53e brigade de missiles antiaériens contribue activement à la guerre d’agression menée par la Russie contre l’Ukraine. La 53e brigade de missiles antiaériens a été déployée dans la région ukrainienne de Kharkiv lors de l’invasion à grande échelle menée par la Russie, et a tiré des missiles antiaériens à partir d’un entrepôt d’Izioum alors que la ville ukrainienne était sous occupation russe. En février 2023, la 53e brigade de missiles antiaériens s’est vu décerner par le président Poutine une nouvelle distinction honorifique pour héroïsme et bravoure de masse, endurance et courage des membres de la brigade lors des actions de combat visant à défendre la patrie", probablement en lien avec les contributions de la brigade à la guerre d’agression menée par la Russie contre l’Ukraine. Le président Poutine a décidé de décerner le titre honorifique de "Garde" à la 53e brigade de missiles antiaériens qui, depuis le 21 février 2023, s’appelle la 53e brigade de missiles antiaériens de la Garde. Par conséquent, la 53e brigade de missiles antiaériens apporte un soutien matériel à des actions qui compromettent et menacent l’intégrité territoriale, la souveraineté et l’indépendance de l’Ukraine.
