Abbas Nilfrushan est le commandant adjoint des opérations du corps des gardiens de la révolution islamique (IRGC) et est responsable du commandement des opérations de l’IRCG, l’une des organisations de sécurité directement chargée de réprimer les manifestations. À ce titre, il a présenté le mouvement de protestation civile spontanée de 2022 comme un mouvement terroriste et une menace directe pour la sécurité de l’Iran, légitimant ainsi la réponse très dure de celle-ci aux protestations pacifiques. Il est donc responsable de graves violations des droits de l’homme en Iran.
