State Security Branch of Deir al-Zor (Branch 327)

The State Security branch of Deir al-Zor (Branch 327) is a branch of the General Intelligence Service. It has similar departments to those of the central branches in Damascus, and they have the same subject-matter jurisdiction and the same functions but within the governorate. Each branch has departments and detachments that operate across the governorate. Each town or village has a security officer in charge, responsible for the summonses by security branches and for making security reports. According to several sources, Russia pushed the Syrian regime to appoint new chiefs for the Security Services in March 2021. The current Head of the State Security branch of Deir al-Zor, Brigadier General Abdulrahman Najm, is one of them. Najm was appointed two months after the dismissal of Brigadier General Daas Daas, who was the Head of the State Security branch of Deir al-Zor for many years.

أحد فروع جهاز المخابرات العامة. توجد فيه أقسام مشابهة للفروع المركزية بدمشق، وتتمتع بنفس اختصاصاتها ولها نفس عملها لكن في حدود المحافظة. ويتبع لكل فرع منها أقسام ومفارز تتوزع في مختلف أرجاء المحافظة، ولكل بلدة أو قرية عنصر أمني مسؤول عنها وعن إجراء الدراسات الأمنية فيها وعن عمليات الاستدعاء للفروع الأمنية. وبحسب عدة مصادر: دفعت روسيا النظام السوري لإجراء تعيينات جديدة لرؤساء الاجهزة الامنية في آذار 2021، من بينهم الرئيس الحالي لفرع أمن الدولة في دير الزور العميد عبد الرحمن نجم وذلك بعد نحو شهرين من إقالة العميد دعاس دعاس الذي كان رئيسًا لفرع أمن الدولة في دير الزور لسنوات طويلة.
