Aleksandra Melniczenko jest żoną Andrieja Melniczenki, objętego sankcjami na podstawie Rozporządzenia Rady (UE) nr 269/2014, zał. I, poz. 721. Wymieniony był beneficjentem rzeczywistym SUEK Polska Sp. z o.o., której właścicielem jest spółka SUEK AG z siedzibą w Szwajcarii, należąca do największego producenta węgla w Rosji – JSC SUEK. Polski podmiot jest wyłącznym importerem na teren RP rosyjskiego węgla wydobywanego przez koncern SUEK. Do chwili objęcia sankcjami 92% udziałów SUEK AG należało do jego założyciela, Andrieja Melniczenki. Wymieniony jest obłożony również sankcjami Ukrainy i Wielkiej Brytanii. Od 21.03.2022 r. jako beneficjent rzeczywisty szeregu polskich spółek wskazywana jest Aleksandra Melniczenko – żona Andrieja Melniczenki. Z posiadanych danych wynika, że działania podjęte przez Andrieja Melniczenkę w zakresie zmiany struktury właścicielskiej powiązanych z nim podmiotów miały na celu uniknięcie potencjalnego zajęcia/zamrożenia majątku i środków finansowych wymienionego, mogącego nastąpić w związku z nałożeniem sankcji. Nałożenie sankcji na Aleksandrę Melniczenko oraz powiązane z nią (a faktycznie z Andriejem Melniczenką) spółki, m.in. SUEK Polska Sp. z o.o. i EUROCHEM POLSKA Sp. z o.o. przyczyni się do zmniejszenia przychodów wymienionych firm oraz podmiotów osiągających korzyści z ich działalności, a tym samym pośrednio wpłynie na zmniejszenie przychodów budżetu Federacji Rosyjskiej, z którego finansowana jest agresja przeciwko Ukrainie.
