Holds the rank of Major General, a senior officer and former Chief of Staff of the Syrian Air Force under the former al-Assad regime. As a senior officer of the Syrian Air Force under the former al-Assad regime, he is responsible for the violent repression of the civilian population in Syria, including the use of chemical weapons attacks by the former al-Assad regime during his tenure as Chief of Staff of the Syrian Air Force, as identified in the report of the Joint Investigative Mechanism established by the United Nations.

Officier supérieur et ancien chef d’état-major de l’armée de l’air syrienne sous l’ancien régime d’al-Assad, portant le grade de général de division. En sa qualité d’officier supérieur de l’armée de l’air syrienne sous l’ancien régime d’al-Assad, il est responsable de la répression violente exercée contre la population civile en Syrie, et notamment du recours, par l’ancien régime d’al-Assad, à des attaques à l’arme chimique lorsqu’il exerçait ses fonctions de chef d’état-major de l’armée de l’air syrienne, ainsi qu’il ressort du rapport du mécanisme d’enquête conjoint créé par les Nations unies.
