In his former leadership position as Deputy Chairman of the State Security Committee (KGB), he was responsible for the participation of the KGB in the repression and intimidation campaign in the wake of the 2020 presidential election, in particular arbitrary arrests and ill-treatment, including torture, of peaceful demonstrators and opposition members. He remains active in the Lukashenka regime as Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences.
Dans le cadre de ses anciennes fonctions dirigeantes de vice-président du comité pour la sûreté de l’État (KGB), il a été responsable de la participation du KGB à la campagne de répression et d’intimidation menée à la suite de l’élection présidentielle de 2020, en particulier d’arrestations arbitraires et de mauvais traitements, y compris la torture, de manifestants pacifiques et de membres de l’opposition. Il continue de jouer un rôle actif dans le régime de Loukachenka en tant que vice-président du présidium de l’Académie nationale des sciences.
