Commander of the Southern Military District (since September 2016). Responsible for military forces in the region, including illegally annexed Crimea and Sevastopol.

General of the Russian Armed Forces. He was the top battlefield commander of Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine between April and June 2022. In that capacity, he was responsible for all military operations against Ukraine. Therefore, Alexander Dvornikov actively supported and implemented actions or policies which undermine or threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine, as well as stability and security in Ukraine.
